Borg El Arab International Airport, also known by its IATA code of HBE, can be found around 40 kilometers southwest of Alexandria in Egypt. The Airport provides service to neighboring regions of the Nile Delta as well.
In February 2010, a new passenger building and an administration building were constructed at the Airport. The passenger terminal is shaped like a boat and has three floors: the first, second, and third.
Domestic and international arrivals and administrative and airline offices are housed on the second floor.
On the third floor, you'll find areas for domestic and international departures, immigration, and a particular VIP area. The three floors of this building are all used for commercial purposes.
The terminal building is connected to the planes through four movable boarding bridges.
A fuel supply unit, a control tower, and a fire station are on-site to cover emergencies in the terminal's duty-free shop and franchise food court. There is also a section for travel offices and related services. The building has a 350-space parking lot in front of it.
History of Borg El Arab International Airport
All traffic was relocated from Alexandria International Airport to Borg El Arab International Airport in December 2010. There is a new passenger terminal and an administrative building at the Airport.
An estimated 25-minute drive will connect the new city with Borg El-Arab airport through the ring road. The President opened one of many airports being built or renovated to accommodate growth, namely Borg El-Arab International Airport.
Airport passenger and freight handling capacities were significantly increased in response to increased demand. In February of this year, the new facilities were launched.
